• Procedures:
- Recognition of credits on the basis of presented documents: academic transcript or diploma from a previous study; international diplomas and foreign language certificates (English - Cambridge FCE, TOEFEL; German - Zertifikat Deutsch, Sprahdiplom, Zweite Stufe; Russian – ТРКИ; French - DELF; Spanish - DELE); international diplomas and computer skills certificates to meet ECDL (The European Computer Driving Licence).
- certification of knowledge and skills through passing examinations in: foreign language by the Department of Foreign Language Teaching, computer skills by the Department of Computer Studies, specific knowledge and skills for the professional area by the Department of Security and Safety;
- Allocation of credits: the Department of Security and Safety awards relevant to the study programme of the course credits based on the results of certification of knowledge and skills.
Qualification requirements and regulations: To acquire the qualification in the specialization "Corporate Security" 240 credits are needed, 189 of them are from compulsory courses, 33.5 credits are from elective courses, 7.5 credits are from optional courses and 10 credits are from a state examination or a thesis defence.
Profile of the programme: The major "National Ssecurity Protection" prepares university graduates who can develop a career in the field of public security, the government, municipal and private sector. Organization of training is based on a basic module and specialized courses.
Key learning outcomes
In the process of training students in the undergraduate programme "National Security Protection" acquire knowledge and practical skills, which allow them to promptly identify and assess hazards and threats to national security, corporate security and personal security, to make sound risk decisions to organize and manage the forces and means of protection in a manner that will prevent adverse events - crimes, accidents, catastrophes, to neutralize their effects and to prepare conditions for disclosure of the reasons, the persons responsible, etc.
Occupational profiles of graduates
The acquired qualification allows graduates to develop a career in the Ministry of Interior, including DG "Fire Safety and Population Protection", of the Ministry of Defence, of Ministry of Environment and Waters, in the municipal departments of public order and security, in banking, insurance agencies and companies, etc.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading: The head lecturer of each course in the major "National Security Protection" introduces rules for admission to the semester examination, methodology and assessment criteria presented to students at the beginning of the training course. A variety of teaching methods are used - lectures, seminars, practical training, field studies, contact hours /incl. on-line/, etc. The forms and methods of assessment are: assignments, assignments tasks, course assignments and projects, tests, case studies, field studies, etc. The assessment criteria depend on the methods and forms used in each course. The results are documented in a specific form "Journal of the Lecturer" and are announced orally or electronically during the continuous assessmentl and after the end of the semester examination.
Graduation requirements: During training, internship with students is conducted using developed and approved in advance methodology outside training hours. Students, depending on their specialization, may choose one of the options: Western Rhodopes, MI structures, enterprises, companies, firms, district and municipal governments. Students can do one-week educational internship in the Republic of Turkey. The internship finishes with a defence before an appointed committee, which is a prerequisite for their admission to the state examination. The Bachelor's degree programme finishes with sitting for state examinations. For the specialization "National Security" students sit for a state examination in criminal and legal sciences and a state examination in specialized courses.
