On 07.12.2012 Varna Free University has started the implementation of Project "Creation of a new office for technology transfer for energy efficient materials and technologies in VFU "Free University" financed by Operational Programme "Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy" 2007-2013. The project amounts to 292 986,96 lv. and its duration is 24 months.

The project aims to create a knowledge base accessible to the national industry so it could be more competitive and efficient in the field of energy efficiency.

The specific goals for implementation under the project are:

Development of research in the field of energy-efficient materials for the Bulgarian economy through modern high-tech facilities.

Developing and strengthening the science-business links through high-quality and accessible knowledge and verification of the quality of the materials used by business and technology.

Diversification of knowledge and skills in science, education and business through its use in the learning process, transferring them to the industry and construction sector.

The established new high-tech technology transfer office in VFU will serve Varna and the region and will specialize in energy-efficient materials and technologies used in the construction of buildings and facilities.
