37. INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH. DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF NEW NEURAL NETWORK MODELS AND ARCHITECTURES INFLUENCED BY MODERN BRAIN DISCOVERIES

SCIENTIFIC AREAS: MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES AND COMPUTER SCIENCES and MEDICAL SCIENCES

PROJECT BUDGET: BGN 169,000

PROJECT DURATION: 36 months

Main scientific area of the project: Mathematical Sciences and Informatics

Additional scientific field: Medical Sciences

Funding: Research Fund, Basic Research Program

The project is interdisciplinary and aims to explore practices of modern advances in neuroscience and in particular neuroplasticity, as well as biomimetic regulatory systems in living organisms, which, after various modeling methods, can be used to create models and architectures of neural networks .
The achievement of the main goal of the project is realized through the achievement of the following sub-goals:
a) Modern findings in brain research – analysis and modeling.
In this sub-goal it is realized: research, analyzes and modeling of current brain research and biomimetic models based on regulatory systems observed in living organisms, with the aim of formulating hypotheses for new models for optimizations and new models and architectures of neural networks.
b) Design and evaluation of new ANN models, using neuroplasticity.
In this sub-goal, new ANN models are designed, evaluated and validated, using neuroplasticity.
c) Design and evaluation of biomimetic ANN models based on regulatory systems observed in living organisms.
In this sub-goal, biomimetic ANN models based on regulatory systems observed in living organisms are designed, evaluated and validated.
