December 1st is the official start date of the activities related to the project Regional sustainable development on the basis of eco-human synergetic interaction activities, for short SEHSI.

Varna Free University participates in the implementation of the three-year project activities in its capacity as partner organization (01.12.2013 – 30.11.2016). Project number is 543651-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-AT-TEMPUS-JPCR (2013 – 5071 / 001 – 001).

The coordinator of the project is Vienna University of Technology, Austria who is partnering with 20 organizations from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain.

The financial framework of the project totals 1 373 888,56 €.

SEHSI is aimed at providing positive changes in regional sustainable development (RSD) based on cognitive and personality growth of “agents of positive changes” by developing eco-humanistic knowledge, thinking & behavior. The project is focused on the development of innovative curriculum for training this new generation of agents of positive changes in regional development.

Project motivation is derived from the need of modern integrating, dynamic & highly technological world in educating new type of specialists in engineering capable to work under condition of permanent changes in multinational multidisciplinary teams.

Specific project objectives are creating RSD multidisciplinary curricula for students in engineering, integrating e-learning & advanced infrastructure for amplifying UA universities training capacity, developing academic-industrial-business–governmental RSD network.

The expected project outputs and outcomes are the development of human resources of 25 trainers who will train 200 MSc, PhD and LLL students in engineering within RSD pilot training. Development of training resources is also envisioned: RSD methodology, curricula, training packages, e-training resources.

Varna Free University will grant its experience in the e-training systems and the long life learning. Within the context of the project subject-matter, VFU will also participate in the development of RSD training materials and will contribute to enlarge the international network of universities and business organizations.
