WE CELEBRATE THE INTERNATIONAL SAFER INTERNET DAY
11 February 2020
On February 11, we celebrate the International Safer Internet Day.
The aim of the initiative is to increase security and accountability in the use of new technologies, especially among children and young people.
It started as an initiative in 2004 by the European Union. Today that Day has long gone beyond its borders and is celebrated in over 150 countries on all continents. This is a day in which public attention is focused on online risks and the need for educational institutions and other organizations to make greater efforts to develop computer hygiene.
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" is responding to the growing public needs with the creation of the Black Sea Security Academy, together with prominent world experts from Israel.
One of the profiles at the Black Sea Security Academy is Cybersecurity, as part of national security. A number of projects are to be developed in the field of cybersecurity - both in education and in the training and qualification of civil servants in the Bulgarian security forces. "We have agreed with our Israeli partners to implement several projects in Bulgaria very soon, one of which will be unique in the Balkan region," said Vladimir Bronfenbrenner, Secretary General of the Black Sea Security Academy.
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" has launched a series of "Leaders Lectures Series", which will continue in March.
