VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABER" WILL PARTNER WITH NANTONG UNIVERSITY IN CHINA
In fulfillment of the Cooperation Memorandum signed between VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and Nantong University in China, a delegation led by Prof. Yang, in charge of the international relations of the leading Chinese university, visited Varna Free University. He was accompanied by Assist. Prof. Hanon Chen. The guests were welcomed by the vice-president of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", Yani Yanev, the vice-rector, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Kanev, and the general secretary, Prof. Dr. Galina Shamonina.
It was agreed that Varna Free University will enroll Chinese master and doctoral students in programmes in the field of arts and business administration. Doctoral students will have directors of studies from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the Nantong University, as this corresponds to the Strategy for the Development of Doctoral Programmes of Varna Free University. During the visit, the study opportunities for bachelors were also discussed. The Chinese delegation showed great interest in foreign language courses, summer schools, courses and language semesters.
During their visit to Varna Free University, the Chinese delegation got acquainted with the possibilities of the university campus. The guests were interested in the Institute of Technology, the University Library, the Laboratory for Additive Technologies, the art studios, the Educational and Sports Complex and the University Park.
Workshops were held with Prof. Dr. Pavel Pavlov - Director of the Institute for Training Doctoral Students, the Deans of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of International Economy and Administration - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rositsa Petkova - Slipets and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kapka Manasieva - head of the Department of Arts at the university, Prof. Dr. Velislava Nikolaeva - director of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Postgraduate Qualification, and Nikolay Dragoev - head of the student admission center.
The guests had the opportunity to explore Varna and the region and participate in the cultural programme of the city.
