The mediators at the court centers from the Varna appellate district got acquainted with the legal disputes, on which, from July 1 this year, the court can make the parties participate in a mediation procedure. They were told about the preparation they need to have depending on the stage of the case in which the dispute was sent to the alternative procedure to be resolved. The participants in the training worked on various cases and prepared draft settlement agreements in the cases of parental rights, a dispute over property and security of a future claim, in order to become familiar with the possible problematic moments and to correctly formulate the parameters of the agreement. The mediators received information about the activities of the judicial center and their interaction with its coordinator. They learned that a survey is being planned on the level of satisfaction of the participants in the mediation procedure, immediately after its completion. Attention was also paid to the ethical rules of behavior of mediators.
A mandatory first meeting in mediation in six types of court cases will be held from July 1 this year. This was made possible by changes to the Law on Mediation. The mediation will take place in special centers at the courts.
