VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABER" UNITES LIFE SCIENCES AND ART IN THE DAY OF FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE

The Department of Computer Science at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" organizes Hybrid Career Exchange for bachelors and masters from the professional field Informatics and Computer Science. The event will be held on September 17, 2022 - the day of Faith, Hope and Love at 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Sea Casino in Varna.

During the exchange, the innovative master's degree programmes Artificial Intelligence in Biomedicine and Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, developed under the project Developing a Multidisciplinary Educational Environment for the Development of Personnel with Integral Competences in the Field of Biomedicine and Health Care of Medical University - Varna, with partner Varna Free University, financed under the Operational Programme Science and Education for Intelligent Growth. Companies, clusters and branch organizations that are users of IT, healthcare, medicine and biotechnology personnel are invited to participate. Discussion panels have been organized in a hybrid environment to present the master's programmes by the project team as well as the associated partners. As a result of the career exchange, database of interested organizations and candidates for the programmes is expected to be created.

The forum will also be accompanied by STEAM events for students, parents and teachers. DNA Day, traditionally organized by the Department of Computer Science in partnership with BioMed-Varna Foundation and the High School of Mathematics "Dr Petar Beron", will be at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on September 17. Educational STEAM activities related to DNA will be presented. The lecture for parents and teachers is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and the lecturer is Assoc. Trifon Chervenkov, MD. - lecturer at the Department of Medical Genetics at MU - Varna, and at 11:30 a.m. the discussion Training and Development will be held, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Momcheva - head of the Department of Computer Science at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and chairperson of the BioMed-Varna Foundation. The discussion aims at uniting the active drivers of educational initiatives and STEAM practices in Bulgaria. Parents and teachers, directors and representatives of educational centers and organizations working with children will take part.

All discussions and lectures will be broadcast on the Facebook profile of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and on the profiles of all the partners in the event.

At 7:30pm starts the dance performance "LIFE SCIENCES = FAITH, HOPE, LOVE", created especially for the event and combining art with life sciences. In it we will see the artists from the "Art Dance" ballet, the "Elbetitsa" dance group, former, current and future students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hraber". Soloists - Hristina Evstatieva-Mavreva and Ivan Hristov. The choreographer of the performance is Nina Kozina, the libretto is written by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Kardzhieva, based on the idea ofAssoc. ​​Prof. Dr. Galina Momcheva. The performance is presented by the BioMed-Varna Foundation, which develops interdisciplinary research, educational and entrepreneurial practices in the fields of life sciences, computer sciences and the arts. Admission is by invitation.
