Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" invites experts from various fields to a circular economy training course. Topics related to the life cycle of prime and raw materials, products, waste management, business models in the circular economy, the legal and institutional system of the European Union and its environmental policy, as well as sustainable finance are covered. For the first time, the experts will also use the specially established platform containing information in English. The training aims to increase local capacity and will become the basis for the development of regional knowledge of the circular economy model.
Applicants must possess a diploma of completed higher education - bachelor's or master's degree. The course will be held in English, and participation in it is free. It is part of the activities on the project "Knowledge of the Circular Economy in the Black Sea Basin BSB-CIRCLECON - BSB 1021", financed by the Joint Operational Programme for Cross-Border Cooperation under the European Neighborhood Instrument "Black Sea Basin 2014-2020", under which VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" is a leading organization, and partners are organizations from Greece, Turkey, Georgia and Ukraine.
The duration of the training is six months - it will start in mid-November 2022 and end in May 2023. A certificate will be issued to the participants who have successfully completed the course.
Application forms for the circular economy expert training course are accepted until 10 November 2022.
VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" is a leader in circular economy education. In the university's academic profile, a full cycle of educational products on the issue is implemented - from courses for additional qualification, through a sustainably developing master's degree programme and its upgrade to an educational and scientific degree "doctor".
The Master's degree programme Circular Economy is held under the patronage of the Directorate General for "Environment" of the European Commission. It prepares a second class of students - representatives of state and municipal administrations, non-governmental organizations and businesses. "This specialty is the only one of its kind in the EU," emphasized George Kremlis, honorary director of the Directorate-General for the Environment, who gave an extremely high assessment to the students' training in it.
The campaign for the admission of the third class of students in the Master's degree programme "Circular Economy" is at the height of its activity. It prepares managers and experts with professional interests and responsibilities in the field of ecology, efficient use of resources and sustainable development of regions. The application period is until the end of October 2022.
