VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABER" BEGINS THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR WITH A GROWTH OF STUDENTS
The opening ceremony of the academic year 2023/2024 will be held on October 2, 2023 (Monday), at 10:00 a.m. in the East Park of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar".
The first academic day will begin with a welcome from the university's academic management. A church prayer for the health, success and prosperity of the whole academic family will be held. Magdalena Hristova - a graduate of the National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov”, who chose to study in Architecture, will share her expectations on behalf of the students accepted with the highest academic grades. The Erasmus students will be presented by Angelo DiPalma from the University of Modena, Italy. For the graduates of VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar", the "Erasmus+" programme opens the doors of more than 100 of the world's best universities, with which it has partner relations.
Varna Free University welcomes the new academic year with the most serious increase in admissions in bachelor's programmes for the last five years. The university is increasingly attractive to graduates of language and mathematics high schools, where every fifth first-year student is from. The connections between education and business also attract students from vocational high schools. Every third first-year student graduated from high school with honors. The university trains more and more working young people who want to improve their qualifications or grow professionally.
In the new academic year, the number of international students, masters and doctoral students, who come from more than 30 countries around the world and from four continents, has doubled.
The confidence, but also the demandingness of the students towards the university is growing. The assessment they put on the quality of the educational process at Varna Free University is excellent - 5.59.
In 2023, VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" became the first Bulgarian university certified according to the international environmental management standard ISO 14001. The attitude towards sustainable development and environmental protection is a key priority and responsibility for VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". The university changes both the environment and the attitude by meeting the highest standards of sustainability based on scientific, educational, economic, environmental and social criteria.
Varna Free University is a pioneer in a number of specialties, in the building up of a quality educational product, in the development of skills and competences necessary for the professional realization and success of young people. Innovative programmes aimed at revealing the talent of young people, a flexible and modern educational approach and personally oriented forms of studying attract more and more talented, capable and self-confident students.
