A bilateral forum between the Ningbo University of Finance and Economics and Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar"was held in a hybrid format on December 12th. The topic 'International Business, Language and Cultural Exchange' brought together experts from Bulgaria and China to discuss issues such as language, cultural and business exchange between the two countries, intercultural business etiquette, cultural differences and integration, as well as business communication. The participants shared ideas and experience, creating an important platform for further cooperation between the two universities.
"This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria and the 20th anniversary of the twinning of Ningbo and Varna," said Yani Yanev, Vice President of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" during the opening ceremony.
"Cooperation is not only an innovative approach to sharing resources and developing talents for international language exchange, but also a sincere cultural dialogue between our two civilizations," said Jiang Tianyin, Vice President of Ningbo University of Finance and Economics. He emphasized the university's commitment to researching and implementing successful practices to promote international business, language and cultural exchange, as well as professional training for students.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova, Vice-Rector of Varna Free University, also extended warm congratulations via video link and expressed hope for further strengthening the academic experience between the two universities and deepening the partnership between them.
During the forum, experts from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" Assoc. Prof. Georgi Kalaglarski, Assoc. Prof. Ralitsa Zhekova and Dr. Boryana Kostova presented in-depth analyses on various aspects of international business and cultural exchange. Li Dandi, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Zhejiang Gongshan University, and Wen Bing, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, also shared their research results and practical experience.
The experts emphasized that the importance of international exchange is growing and educational institutions should focus on developing intercultural communication skills to meet the challenges of globalization and digitalization.
An interactive session with question and answer was held within the forum. Participants discussed cultural exchange between China and Bulgaria, business ethics, language education and other related topics. Everyone expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and create a solid foundation for future cooperation in the field of education and culture.
