The team of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", consisting of students from the Faculty of Social, Economic and Computer Sciences, reached the final phase of the prestigious Sixth National Mediation Competition for University Students, organized by the Center for Dispute Resolution with the assistance of the National Association of Mediators. The competition was held in Sofia a few days ago.
The event brought together 20 teams from 15 key Bulgarian universities, and the students from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" once again demonstrated excellent skills and competence. Alexandra Atanasova from the Master's programme in Infrastructure of Administration was awarded the 'Distinguished Diplomacy' award in the role of a lawyer, and Yoanna Foteva took fifth place in the individual ranking among the 20 best student mediators.
In 2023, the students of Varna Free University also showed excellent skills and were among the winners of the National Mediation Competition held in Veliko Tarnovo. Yoanna Foteva, then a third-year student majoring in Informatics and Computer Science, ranked in the TOP 3 of mediators, and Alexandra Atanasova, a bachelor's degree majoring in Business Administration and Management, received a special prize for a lawyer.
The team's mentor is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivanka Bankova, whose expertise and approach are among the key factors in the students' success. Participation in such initiatives enables future specialists to develop practical dispute resolution skills that are essential for the modern business and social environment. The brilliant performance of the students is proof of the high level of training and support that Varna Free University provides to its graduates. Participation in the national competition is part of the university's effort to develop talents and prepare professionals who can meet the challenges of the modern world.
We congratulate the students and their mentor on their success and wish them many more future professional and academic achievements!
