VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EUROPEAN WEEK OF CLUSTERS

Innovations in construction and machine building will be presented during an international meeting-discussion entitled Modern Engineering - Innovative Industrial Construction and Machine Building, organized by Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" in partnership with the European Industrial Cluster. The meeting will take place on 19 April 2019 at 10.00 am at the Russian Centre of the University and is part of the European Cluster Collaboration Weeks.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss topics related to clusters' philosophy, the value of knowledge, funding, dynamic technological development, high competition and globalization. The importance of cooperation between universities and industry is to find new common ground, as well as to study specific problems and tasks related to practice.
The round table discussion will include students and lecturers of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Structures at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", representatives of more than 20 companies from the construction and machine building industry in North-East Bulgaria, as well as members of the clusters Bultehnoplast and Black Sea Energy Cluster. Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce - Varna and the Honorary Consul of Italy for Varna and Burgas - Antonio Tarquinio are also interested in the event.
During the meeting, a demonstration of reinforced glass fittings, transparent concrete and innovative mixtures for processing wood and textile which enhance the fire safety properties of the materials will be made. The innovations have been developed by Bulgarian companies and are already available on the global market.
The participants will comment on the potential of modern science and the growing synthesis between education, science and industry. The innovative master's degree programmes of the university will be presented - Sustainable Urban Development, Digital Construction, Entrepreneurship, Circular Economy, Cybersecurity and Intelligent Security Systems and Data Science. They are part of the new project Alliance 4.0 - Digital Education for Economic Growth and Social Inclusion.
At 2:00 pm on the same day, the students of the Faculty of Architecture will be awarded their higher education diplomas at the Educational and Sports Complex.
