10 December 2024

Lecturers and students from Varna Free University participated in an exhibition organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Kırklareli, Turkey, where they presented the university's programmes.

VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" was presented by Assoc. Prof. Ali Chakar and the students Güney Yılmaz and Ferit Aydın - winners of the prestigious international competition for creative skills "Varna Spaghetti Engineering", which was held a week ago at Varna Free University. Güney and Ferit completed their studies in Construction of Buildings and Structures and are now studying in the master's programme in Civil Engineering. They presented to the visitors of the exhibition the majors that the university offers in English and Turkish. The prospective students from our southern neighbour showed a particularly strong interest in Civil Engineering in English, which attracts students from different countries due to its high academic level and international focus.

The exhibition caused excitement among the residents of Kırklareli, who had already learned about the success of their compatriots in the "Varna Spaghetti Engineering" competition. The "Sapphire" team became the undisputed winner with the facility, built from 800g of spaghetti and located between two towers at a height of 110cm, which withstood a load of 12,500 g. Many stopped by the university's stand to learn more about the event and the opportunities for education at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", said Assoc. Prof. Chakar.
