VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY, THE NAVAL ACADEMY AND THE INSTITUTE OF METAL SCIENCE ESTABLISH AN EXPERT LABORATORY CENTER

Partnership framework agreement was signed by Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, the Institute of Metallurgy, Equipment and Technologies with the Center for Hydro- and Aerodynamics “Academician A. Balevski ”- BAS and Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar ”. The agreement stipulates the establishment of a joint Expert Laboratory Center, as an infrastructure for the sustainable development of new materials and technologies and other activities related to the priorities of the three institutions. On behalf of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" the document was signed by Prof. Dr. Galina Shamonina - Secretary General of the University.
The subject of the partnership is also the integration of the scientific-educational and innovation capacity of the countries in order to participate in joint research, training of doctoral students and participation and implementation of regional, national and European projects in the field of materials science. It also aims at encouraging research and development through the use of shared resources and joint participation in projects.
By signing the agreement, the three institutions declared that they will cooperate to achieve the goals set in the strategy for the development of higher education - 2021-2030. Among them are the activation of research in higher education, improving the organization of research and stimulating the cooperation of the higher schools with the institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Science.
The agreement also called for improving the methods of scientific training and qualification of young researchers in the field of new materials and technologies, as well as interaction with business, through technology transfer and commercialization of scientific results from the Expert Laboratory Center.
