Varna Free University provides an opportunity for specialized training on the NIS2 Directive (Network and Information Security) - the latest European regulation in the field of cybersecurity. The course will be taught by Kremen Hristov - a key expert with 17 years of experience in the field of information security, IT service management and auditing according to international standards. The training will be held online on 26th March, 2025 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The training is aimed at all those who want to understand the essence of Directive (EU) 2022/2555, its requirements and how it affects organizations in critical sectors such as energy, transport, finance, healthcare, public administration and digital services.
The NIS 2 Directive (NIS 2) aims at increasing the level of cybersecurity in the EU by introducing stricter risk management requirements, incident reporting obligations and more effective supervision. Each Member State must adopt its own laws based on the Directive, ensuring a minimum standard of security.
The training at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" will cover the basic principles and strategies for implementing the Directive, including best practices for protecting critical infrastructure and mechanisms for preventing cyberattacks.
The course is suitable for managers, cybersecurity specialists, IT managers and experts involved in the implementation of the Directive's measures. During the training, participants will acquire practical skills in planning, implementing and managing cybersecurity programs, as well as in risk assessment, regulatory compliance and incident response. The materials will be presented in accessible language and will be useful for both beginners and experienced specialists.
Kremen Hristov, who will be in charge of the training, is a co-founder of IS Consult Service OOD and a key information security expert. He is a certified ISO 27001:2022 auditor and has many years of experience in developing data protection strategies and cyber risk management. Students will gain valuable knowledge and practical guidance for compliance with international security standards.
