Varna Free University honored the memory of Vasil Levski

Students and members of the Student Council at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” participated in an event to pay their respects to Vasil Levski in order to mark the 152nd anniversary of his death. On behalf of the academic community of the university, they put a wreath in front of the monument of the Apostle in the Sea Garden.
Despite the cold February weather and the snow, many Varna residents gathered in front of the monument of Vasil Levski to bow their heads in respect. The event began with a requiem prayer, served by His Eminence Metropolitan John of Varna and Veliko Preslav. After a minute of silence in memory of the Deacon, wreaths and flowers were laid by representatives of local and state authorities, military, public organizations, universities, schools and citizens.
