VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY "CHERNORIZETS HRABER" STARTS TRAINING IN THE FIELD OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" launches in October this year the Artificial Intelligence in Education project, which will train 120 pedagogical specialists from schools in Varna, teachers and students. The training will be conducted by Simeon Nguyen, director of Cyber360 Academy and penetration tester (an ethical hacker authorized to simulate a cyber attack on a computer system for security assessment). The project is part of the Youth Activities 2024 programme of the Municipality of Varna.
Artificial Intelligence in Education aims to improve teaching and learning through the safe introduction of AI technologies and to address the ethical implications of their use in the academic lecture hall or classroom. Artificial intelligence systems are developing rapidly, and their use in education requires a deep understanding of AI and the use of data. Project participants will go through a series of trainings in different modules, including: an overview of different AI tools in education; basics of ChatGPT and Gemini, their abilities and their application in education; exploring DALL-E and similar AI tools for creating visual content; strategies for integrating AI into various academic disciplines.
Topics will focus on practical application and ethical challenges in the use of artificial intelligence. Real examples of successful implementation of AI in schools will be examined, case studies will be analyzed and potential problems and their solutions will be discussed.
The AI in Education project will help teachers, educators and students use AI as a teaching tool without becoming a substitute for learning.
The lecturer Simeon Nguyen graduated from System Programming and has been in the IT field for more than 10 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and is a university lecturer in ethical hacking. He educates employees and companies on how to protect themselves from cyber threats. Last year, Simeon Nguyen was a lecturer at a series of Varna Free University courses on cybersecurity in education, which received a hearty welcome. The present project is the result of the analysis of the opinions of the participants and their desire to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
