Varna District Court accepted the first intern lawyers for 2025

The first 16 intern lawyers of the year were welcomed at the Varna District Court. Thirteen of them have graduated from the Law Department at Varna Free University.
Among the intern lawyers are the graduates of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", who were part of the university's team that won first place in the National Competition in Administrative Law, which was held exactly a year ago at the Supreme Administrative Court. The excellent performance of the then fifth-year students from the Law Department - Slavena Georgieva - team captain, Maria Bozhinova, Kremena Kostadinova, Gyulfidan Eminova and Tsvetelina Stoyanova, placed them at the top of the ranking and placed Varna Free University in first place, along with the New Bulgarian University and Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". Over the past year, the girls successfully passed their exams, and some of them passed their state exams with excellent grades.
At the end of last week, the graduates of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" were welcomed by the chairperson of Varna District Court - Judge Tsveta Pavlova and the Administrative Secretary of the Court Rumen Vichev. Judge Pavlova thanked them for their trust and choice of the court where they decided to have the last part of their training. She presented them with the structure of the institution and assured them that regardless of the choice of matter - civil, commercial or criminal, they will have the opportunity to work with mentor judges who have serious professional experience and from whom they can learn. At an official ceremony, the chairperson of the Varna District Court presented each trainee lawyer with their act of entry and their trainee book.
The trainee lawyer's internship is half a year, divided into 2 months of general and 4 months of specialized internship. During this time, the lawyers will be able to get acquainted with the organization and work of the judicial authorities, the bar and notary activities. Everyone has the opportunity to choose a judge-mentor from the District Court - Varna, who will assign them to prepare drafts of judicial acts.
The mandatory professional internship is the final training stage before lawyers sit the law aptitude test.
The Center for Candidate Admission of Varna Free University has begun accepting candidate students for the academic year 2025/2026. The training in Law is in full-time and part-time mode of study. The main lecture courses cover disciplines in the field of civil, public and criminal law. Students can visit the Law Clinic, where real cases are discussed under the guidance of lecturers. Depending on their interests, students in the specialty have the opportunity to participate in the Civil and Commercial Law Circle and the Criminal Law Circle. The practical focus of these extracurricular forms allows our graduates to demonstrate their acquired knowledge by participating in the National Case Study Competitions, which are held in various higher education institutions every year.
In the spring of 2025, Varna Free University will host the First National Competition in Criminal Law, which is organized by the "Prof. Tamara Hinova" Club of the Student Council and the Faculty of Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar".
