TOP STARS OF BULGARIAN SPORT SUPPORTED THE PROJECT BULGARIA: AGAINST AGGRESSION IN SPORTS

Prof. Petar Hristov, PhD - rector of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", launched the friendly match between young sports journalists and stars of Bulgarian sport that took place on the football field of the National Sport Base SPORT PALACE last night.  




The football meeting took place under the project Bulgaria: Against Aggression in Sports of the Regional Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovation – Varna.


Taybe Yusein - world wrestling champion, Ivet Goranova and Maria Oryaskova - gold medalists in karate and sambo from the European Championship in Minsk 2019, the top basketball player Bozhidar Avramov, sportspeople  from different countries, leading journalists, coaches, judges, students and even part of the management team of the National Sport Base SPORT PALACE met on the pitch .
After an extremely beautiful game, the team led by Ivet Goranova won against the team of Maria Oryashkova with 4:1. Chief judge Kolyo Danev gave a "green" card to one of the athletes for fair play, and Bozhidar Avramov was declared the player of the match.

Earlier in the day the participants in the project recorded their messages against aggression in sports. The project was supported by the senior coach of the national wrestling team - women - Petar Kasabov. "Aggression is not a prerequisite for victory. When you are aggressive in sport, you have no chance to win," said Bulgaria's coach for 2018."Sport is a way to reduce aggression among young people, they leave the tension in the halls and gain control,"said the karate champion Ivet Goranova. All messages will be broadcast soon on social networks.

Earlier, the participants commented on the issue of personal protection and physical self-defence as a means of reducing aggression. It was presented by the lecturer at Varna Free University Assoc. Prof. Ognyan Kachev, PhD. The analyses, specially prepared for the event by the lecturers of the Department of Informatics - Assoc. Prof. Galina Momcheva, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Veselina Spasova, PhD and Asst. Prof. Antoaneta Ivanova, were received with a great interest. They were about the positioning of the sports clubs and the media on the Internet, as well as about analysing content and whether aggression provokes.

The training is conducted by lecturers of Varna Free University. They will teach the students in the new bachelor's and master's degree major in Sports Management.

The project Bulgaria: Against Aggression in Sports 2019 of the Regional Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovation - Varna, is implemented with the financial support of the National Programme for the Implementation of Youth Activities under Art. 10a of the Gambling Act 2019, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Bulgaria.
