THREE VARNA AWARDS FOR VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY

Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" was presented with three Varna Awards. Varna Award is given annually on the occasion of the Day of Slavonic Alphabet, Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture. It is awarded to school and university teachers, scientists, research teams from universities and research institutes in the municipality of Varna for significant achievements in their scientific and teaching activities. This year the awards will be presented on 15 August  - the Day of Varna. 

► In the category SOCIAL SCIENCES, with a collective award was presented the research team led by Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov, PhD - President of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and Vladimir Bronfenbrener - Secretary General of the Black Sea Security Academy at the university. The nomination is for the Black Sea Security Academy Project.

► Prof. Yonko Kunchev, D.Sc.  - Dean of the Faculty of Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". The nomination is for the creation of the educational module "Forensics" and the only in the country complex master's degree programme in Forensic Science at Varna Free University. Prof. Kunchev is also nominated for his book "General Theory of Forensics".

► In the category Technical Sciences with a collective award is presented a scientific team headed by Assoc. Prof. Galina Momcheva, PhD - Head of the Department of Informatics at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stoyan Pavlov - for a project of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the Medical university “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov” for the creation and development of a research interuniversity ecosystem for analysis of biomedical images BioMedVarna. The proposal is of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar and the Medical University - Varna.
