THE TEAM OF VFU IN TOP 3 OF THE NATIONAL STUDENT MEDIATION COMPETITION

The team in mediation of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" qualified in the TOP 3 of the Third National Mediation Competition for students, which was held at the weekend in Plovdiv.The students - Georgi Balabanov and Simona Veleva, with a trainer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivanka Bankova, lecturer in conflictology, took a leading position in the category "Lawyer / Client" team.
The competition brought together 66 participants from 9 of the largest universities in Bulgaria. The students proved that mediation is not just for lawyers - mathematicians, engineers, economists, psychologists, political scientists and more than 10 other majors bravely engaged in dispute resolution.
The contestants were given the task to solve real commercial disputes. The students, who showed both strong argumentation and constructiveness, helping both parties to win, were awarded in the competition.
The Third National Student Mediation Competition is among the few student mediation competitions in Europe, and it also allows students from different majors to not only be involved in mediation, but also to practise dispute resolution. It was organized by the Dispute Resolution Center.
