THE RUSSIAN CENTER OF VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" CELEBRATED THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY FROM THE VICTORY DAY

09 May 2020

The Russian center of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The center has prepared a number of methodological materials dedicated to the 75th anniversary from the Victory. An information class was delivered on the topic "History of the Immortal Regiment". Special attention was paid to the action in Bulgaria. The class was attended by all students studying Russian.
Celebrating Victory Day is impossible without its symbol - St. George's Ribbon. For 10 years now, on May 9, the Russian Center has symbolically presented the ribbon to its visitors. This year, in a state of civil emergency, the Center invited Russian language students to learn about the symbol in the university's virtual classrooms. The presentation included the story, as well as a story about the individual and collective awards, part of which is the St. George's Ribbon.
The most exciting part was the thematic class "Letters from the front. How expected were they!" Letters, which the soldiers sent from the battle line to their loved ones, were read. The front-line correspondence deeply touched the students. During the reading, the young people realized what huge role these letters played. They became a symbol of hope and faith not only for the families, but also for the heroes on the front.
The Russian Center provided methodological research to partner schools and Russian teachers.
