The Russian Center of Varna Free University celebrated the International Aviation and Cosmonautics Day on April 12 with virtual classes for school and university students. The experts from the center invited the students who study Russian from Nayden Gerov Secondary School into the virtual classroom and told them about the achievements in space. The classes were very interesting for them, and the students prepared drawings on the topic of space. The virtual lesson aimed at introducing the young people to the history of the conquest of the space and the first squad of astronauts, led by Yuri Gagarin, to develop the cognitive and creative activity of the participants and to enrich their knowledge in Russian.
The Russian teacher Natalia Anastasova expressed her gratitude to the head of the Russian Center Prof. Dr. Galina Shamonina for the joint fruitful cooperation and shared that the students from the Nayden Gerov secondary school were pleased to take part in the creative task, which is evident from the interesting drawings on the topic.
The students who study Russian at the university participated in the "First in Space" quiz. They did not find the questions difficult and answered that the first dogs in space were the dogs - Belka, Strelka and Laika, and then the first person to conquer the space was Yuri Gagarin. They also suggested that the primary source of energy on board the International Space Station were solar panels.
At the end of the lesson they all sang together the famous song of the Russian band Zemlyane - Grass by the Home.
