Leading experts from Varna Free University will train sports journalists and athletes to recognize the types of aggression and dependencies when having and covering sports events. The training will be held from 19 to 21 July 2019 and it will be attended by 30 young sports reporters and athletes aged up to 29 years. The event will end with a football match where participants will demonstrate fair play and solidarity. It is part of the project "Bulgaria Against Aggression in Sports 2019" of the Regional Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovation - Varna (RAEIV), Contract 25-00-30/06.06.2019 which is realized with the financial support of the National Program for Youth Activities under Art. 10a of the Gambling Act 2019, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Bulgaria. Today the project was presented by Maria Zlateva - a member of the RAPIV team.

"Leading lecturers from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar"  in the field of psychology, informatics, sports, national security and experts from practice in the field of digital marketing will take part in the forum", said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova - Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Administration, who today presented part of the team of lecturers. "The training will help build socially responsible behavior and raise young people's awareness of dealing with risky situations when there is pressure on them and recognizing the risk factors that lead to different types of aggression and dependency", said she. “The emphasis will be on social networks, where young people primarily communicate.”
We have prepared surprises for the reporters who will take part in the training, said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Momcheva, Head of the Department of Informatics at Varna Free University. Among the topics to be discussed are analysis and assessment of the emotion provoked by publications covering aggression and tracing of social network users' reactions. Techniques on how to fix them will be commented  and the issue Do news provoke aggression? will be discussed. The team of the Department of Informatics will acquaint journalists with the latest developments in the effective online media positioning and with the current "online helpers" for sports journalists and athletes.

"We aim to build socially responsible behavior by encouraging a healthy lifestyle, such as preventing aggression in sports and the forms of addiction among young people. Aggression in young people may be affected by sports. It reduces the level of anxiety, builds confidence in its own power, increases control and self-assessment to deal with risky situations, "said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ognian Kachev - Head of Sports at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". He commented that aggression among young people is provoked mainly by stress, inadequate education, the imitation of aggressive behavioral patterns, some of which are also imposed by the media.
