THE DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AT VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" CREATES TEXTBOOKS FOR 5TH AND 6TH GRADE

The Department of Computer Science at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" creates textbooks on Computer Modeling and IT for 5th and 6th grade. The textbooks are published by Atlasi Publishing House, which has extensive experience in preparing and creating textbooks and school aids.

The department has a key expertise in computer science education for secondary schools and universities and is an innovator in the field of STEAM initiatives and practices for schools.
The head of the author's team, who created the textbook "Computer Modeling and Information Technologies"  is Assoc. Prof. Galina Momcheva, PhD, who heads the Department of Computer Science at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". She is the head of two of the master's degree programmes of the university -Data Science and Interactive Design, as well as the training for pedagogical qualification "Teacher of Informatics and IT", founder and manager of the research group BioMed - Varna.

The deputy head teacher of the Mathematical Secondary School "Dr. Petar Beron" Eleonora Pavlova is also part of the author's team.

The team includes the alumnus of Varna Free University Boris Georgiev - announced as 2019 Teacher - Enlightener. Boris is the head of the Information and Communication Technologies department at "Hristo Botev" primary school in Varna. The author's team also includes Assoc. Prof. Veselina Spasova, PhD - lecturer and head of the master's degree programme in Software Engineering and Management, as well as Arch. Petar Stefanov, assistant professor of computer science and deputy head of the master's degree programme in Interactive Design who has received his architectural education in Versailles, Paris.

Atlasi Publishing House will apply to the Ministry of Education and Science for approval of the textbooks for 5th and 6th grade and for their inclusion in the work of the schools in the academic year 2022/2023.

Yesterday, the author's team met with the leadership of the publishing house at the university.
