The construction industry reveals professional secrets to university and school students

"Construction Site - Builder Profession", organized by Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", will be held on 6 February 2019 in the central foyer of the University
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will reveal the secrets and challenges of the construction profession during the practical workshop "Construction Site - Builder Profession". The event will bring together university and school students and representatives of the largest construction companies in Bulgaria on 6 February (Wednesday) from 10.00 to 16.00 in the central foyer of the university.
"The aim of the initiative is to promote the profession of the builder, to meet the students majoring in Construction of Buildings and Structures and Fire Safety and Population Protection and school students with leading representatives of the branch, who will offer real jobs. During the construction site, young people will be able to find the answers of the questions why to choose this profession and how successfully to build a career in it," says Milena Kichekova, PhD, Head of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Structures at VFU .
During the event, the future construction engineers will be able to get acquainted with the basic building processes and participate in some of them in the form of games and competitions. In the foyer of Varna Free University concrete will be "casted", scaffolding will be erected and even a roof structure will be built. One of the latest technologies for non-destructive analysis of structures will be demonstrated. The students and lectureres of the specialty Fire Safety and Population Protection will demonstrate how to act in a fire, and those intersted will be able to take a photo in a real fire suit.
During their visit to the university, the school students from the vocational high schools will start off on the "Path of Science", which includes workshops of interest - Autocad, Information Technologies and Experimental Physics. Te future experts will immerse themselves in the real university environment and will feel the academic spirit. Their meeting with builders will help them more easily to choose their profession of the future.
Participation in the student exchange has confirmed some of the biggest Bulgarian construction companies, including Peri Bulgaria, Planex Holding, Ingstroyengineering, Motorways, Xella Bulgaria, Express Guarantion, Regional Road Management, DS home, Ciconia, Fire Systems, Fire Equipment and others.
The event is supported by the Chamber of Engineers in Investment Design and the Bulgarian Construction Chamber.
