The artists from the Lantern Theater in the Chinese province of Guizhou gave an impressive performance

On the eve of the Chinese New Year, artists from Guizhou Province started their national tour with an impressive colorful concert at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar". On the stage of the Aula Maxima, they presented traditional folk music and dances inspired by the mountains and springs of the Guizhou region. Special guests of the event were the university's foreign students, graduates and doctoral students from China.
In the performance, dancers from the Guizhou Lantern Theater presented the rich cultural heritage and artistic charm of the ethnic minorities in the Chinese province. Guizhou is located in Southwest China. The unique geographical charm - mountains and springs, land and water, elevates a person, believe the locals. Amidst this magnificent landscape, the resilient and optimistic people of Guizhou have created a large number of literary and artistic treasures, some of which were presented on the stage of our university.
The artists received flowers from the Mayor of Varna Blagomir Kotsev, from the Chinese Cultural Center - Sofia and from the Academic Management of Varna Free University.
The event was organized by the Chinese Cultural Center - Sofia and the Guizhou Cultural and Performing Theater Concern. The tour will continue with concerts on January 11th in Plovdiv and in Sofia on January 14th.
The Chinese New Year is celebrated on January 29th. The year of the green wooden snake begins. It grants prosperity, harmony and growth opportunities.
