The Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria visited Varna Free University

VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" welcomed the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Bulgaria H.E. Yosef Levi Sfari. He met with the President of Varna Free University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Nedyalkov, the Rector Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov, as well as the Vice-Rectors Prof. D.Sc. Dimitar Kanev and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova. Ambassador Sfari was accompanied by Mr. Roni Goldberg, Attaché for Scientific and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of Israel.
The expansion of cooperation between the university and Israeli educational and cultural institutions was discussed during the visit. The Ambassador looked around the campus and got acquainted with the diverse opportunities for training and scientific activity that the university provides. The emphasis in the talks was placed on the significant interest of Israeli doctoral students who have chosen VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" for their academic and scientific training. Since 2018 nearly 80 Israeli doctoral students have studied or successfully defended their dissertations at Varna Free University.
H.E. Yosef Sfari emphasized the strong ties between Israel and Bulgaria and expressed his readiness to assist in establishing partnerships with academic institutions in Israel. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Nedyalkov presented Ambassador Sfari with a golden honorary plaque of Varna Free University.
The meeting reinforced the desire to strengthen international partnership and exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of education and culture.
