The programme, headed by Yordanka Beleva, provided the opportunity for young lawyers to engage in analyses of legislative practices in different countries, with the focus of Simona's work being a study of the legal systems of Germany and Switzerland, and Maria working on Spain and Austria.
Maria Borislavova was part of Varna Free University team that ranked first in
the National Competition in Administrative Law, which was held in 2024 at the Supreme Administrative Court. This is her second higher education, after graduating from Political Science.
On January 25th, 2025, at an official ceremony in the National Assembly, the Speaker of the Parliament, Assoc. The programme was attended by 20 law students from various universities in the country. For eight months, they worked on three legislative studies of the regulatory framework in different countries. The topics included the delivery of medicinal products through mobile pharmacies and electronic applications, patronage and the regulatory regime, as well as the use of electric scooters.
"Your participation in the student programme is extremely useful for lawmaking," noted the Speaker of the National Assembly, Assoc. Prof. Kiselova, when presenting the certificates. She expressed her satisfaction with the fact that more and more young people are showing interest in the work of the legislative institution and supporting its activities. "I hope that your interest in legislative research will lead you to science, because
Bulgaria needs knowledgeable and capable young people," said Natalia Kiselova. Since the programme was established in 1999, interns have worked on 229 studies in various areas of legislation, prepared at the request of parliamentary committees, parliamentary groups or members of parliament, the Speaker of Parliament said.
As representatives of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" in this programme, Maria and Simona will promote the project among their colleagues and encourage more students from the university to apply for participation in future editions of the programme.
"This was an extremely valuable experience that gave me the opportunity to enrich my knowledge in the field of legal research and to get acquainted with international practices. I hope that my example will inspire more students from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" to join similar initiatives," said Simona, who was admitted to the programme immediately after completing her first year.
VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" continues to support its students in their professional development, providing them with opportunities to participate in national and international programmes that contribute to the development of highly qualified and competitive specialists.
