SINCE THE ACADEMIC 2020/2021 TWO MAJORS WILL FOLLOW THE SAME CURRICULUM AT VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY

The   project of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" - "Education in partnership", which integrates classroom training and internship in a real working environment, has been launched. 


Students who start their studies at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" in the academic year 2020/2021 will study according to completely renewed curricula. The news is that all majors in the fields of Administration and Management, namely "Economics", "Informatics and Computer Science" and "Psychology" will allow students to choose from broad-based training with a second major or advanced specialized training. Moreover, the tuition fees and the duration of the studies remain the same.


"The training in all majors at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" is focused entirely on the student and their specific educational needs," said Prof. D. Sc. Dimitar Kanev - Deputy Rector of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". "Our new curricula offer the opportunity to pursue a second major while still studying the first one; alternative educational paths, offering a wide variety of courses, a high percentage of eligibility and individual counseling of students; enhanced practical orientation and training in the course of work in partner organizations. The curriculum is personalized and takes into account the needs and capabilities of each student, with the emphasis of the curriculum on the key competence "learning skills" and building skills for personal and professional development in a dynamic environment and uncertainty. The methods of teaching and learning combine traditional and digital educational technologies, and textbooks and opportunities for individual counseling of students in a digital environment will be provided in each discipline," added Prof. Kanev.

Educational project "Education in partnership"

Improved quality and accessibility of educational services by integrating into a unified educational model of student teaching with hands-on training and working in partner organizations is part of the new academic philosophy of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". The idea is a part of the partnership educational project, which started as a pilot project for aspiring undergraduate students in the professional fields of "Construction of Buildings and Facilities", "Informatics and Computer Science", and "Psychology".


The programmes in the project are organized and conducted in accordance with the principles, methods and methodology of the programmes known in the world practice as "Cooperative education" (CO-OP) and "School to Work" (STW). Their experience has shown that the integration of classroom training and internship in a real working environment increases the effectiveness of learning and enriches the academic achievements of young people, facilitates the financing of their education, allows them to gain valuable experience with different employers, activities and positions and to find the most suitable for them, increases their self-confidence, helps them to make a more successful transition from school to career, increases their employability and improves their prospects for professional development.

The application is 24/7, entirely online - at http://ksp.vfu.bg/. Entrance exams can be sit in the university's virtual classrooms for all majors, except for the state-regulated ones "Law" and "Architecture", for which two sessions are scheduled in the beginning and the end of June this year.
For the academic year 2020/2021 VFU accepts students in 9 professional fields - "Administration and Management", "Economics", "Informatics and Computer Science", "Psychology", "Law", "National Security", "Architecture, Construction and Geodesy" , "Fine Arts," and "Music and Dance." Training is offered in 20 bachelor's, 47 master's and 29 doctoral programmes. The announcement of the new session of the scholarship programme of the university "I will study and succeed in Bulgaria" is forthcoming.

Students who study at foreign or Bulgarian universities, but because of the epidemiological situation will not be able to travel in the coming months, the opportunity has been created to continue their studies at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". Following the falling-off of the epidemiological restrictions, the University will issue a European Diploma Supplement to serve their university abroad for recognition of the credits received and the exams passed.
Among the private universities in Bulgaria, VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" has the highest mark for institutional accreditation - 9.21 (according to the ten-point system) - by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria. The university was also accredited by the European Commission.
