On April 5th, 2025, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will host the National Student Competition in Criminal Law. 12 teams from six key universities in Bulgaria will participate in the competition. The organizers of the event are the Lawyer's Club "Prof. Tamara Hinova" at the Student Council and the Faculty of Law at the university. The chairman of the five-member jury will be Prof. D.Sc. Lazar Gruev - member of the Constitutional Court (2003-2007) and chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation (2007 - 2014).
The leading Bulgarian publishing house for legal literature - "Sibi", provided awards for the participants and winners. By offering its support, the publishing house encourages the development of the practical skills of law students and helps establish the competition as a significant event in the academic community.

The competition will also award a special individual prize for the best speaker, who will participate in the May Seminar 2025 'The Art of Communication', with lecturers - Anna Tsolova - a key Bulgarian journalist, TV presenter and author of the project 'Speak, So That They May See You', and Prof. Dr. Stefan Selezliev - a key lecturer in building a personal brand and branding.
The national competition in criminal law aroused serious interest not only among university students, but also among school students who already have a pronounced interest in law. Among the guests will be students in Law Administration at the Secondary School for Humanities and Arts "Konstantin Preslavski", Varna. The Faculty of Law has prepared a special visit for high school students to Varna Free University and also a visit to the rooms on methodology and tactics of investigation.
