SCIENTISTS FROM FIVE COUNTRIES TO DISCUSS NEWS IN ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION DURING ARCIVE'2021

The 10th International Scientific Conference on Architecture and Construction ArCivE'2021 starts on 29 May 2021 at 10:00 am. The event will be online on the platform of Varna Free University (https://meet.google.com/opz-nryd-vzv). The conference is held under the banner of the 30th anniversary of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the 25th anniversary of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Structures.

The conference is traditional for the Faculty of Architecture and brings together both established and young scientists in the field of architecture, civil engineering and fire safety in Bulgaria and abroad. This year's edition of papers on current topics will be presented in five thematic sections "Contemporary Trends in the
Development of Architectural Typologies", "Sustainable Development of the Environment and Society", "Preservation of Cultural and Historical Heritage. Digital Technologies in Architecture and Design", "Building Constructions and Construction Technologies" and "Building Structures and Technologies. Safety Engineering".
The plenary papers will be opened by Assoc. Prof. Eng. Rositsa Petkova – Slipets, PhD - Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of Varna Free University. She will present "25 Years of Engineering and Architectural Education at VFU" Chernorizets Hrabar". Acad. Yachko Ivanov will review the Green Deal of the European Union and the place of the construction industry in its implementation. Corr. Mem. Prof. Arch. Atanas Kovachev, D.Sc. and Prof. Konstantin Kalinkov, PhD will present a paper on "The Functional Approach - The Basis for Sustainable Development of Urban Areas””

The conference will be attended by the world-famous specialist Prof. Nora Lombardini - a lecturer at POLIMI - Polytechnic University of Milan, which supports students from the master's degree programme in Preservation of Cultural Heritage at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". Prof. Lombardini guided and evaluated the student teams that created the first projects for the socialization of the Varna Chalcolithic necropolis - the place where the oldest processed gold in the world was discovered.

Prof. Konstantin Mamonov, PhD - Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy "AN Beketov", will present a paper on "Mathematical Modeling of the Impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Territorial Development of Regional Land Use".

The Faculty of Architecture of Sofia University "Chernorizets Hrabar" partners with the Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy "A.N. Beketov" in Ukraine under the Erasmus + programme. The preparation of joint training of civil engineers with the issuance of two diplomas - from VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the National University of Urban Economy "AN Beketov" is in progress.
