SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND LECTURERS CELEBRATED THE EARTH DAY

On the Earth Day – 22 April, many students repersesnting Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", the University of Economics, Technical University and "N.Y.Vaptsarov" Naval Academy, as well as secondary school students at the 4th Language School "Frederic Joliot-Curie", under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Vanya Bankova, PhD - a lecturer at Varna Free University, cleaned the public areas adjacent to the monument of Bulgarian-Soviet friendship.
Katarina Atanasova and Gergana Aleksieva - students at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", Ralitsa Georgieva, Mitko Vasilev, Yordan Notev and Devora Peidzhu at the University of Economics - Varna, Melvin Mihailov - a student at the Technical University, Kalin Enimanev at the Naval Academy and the school leaver Mier Sanchez at the Language School actively participated in the campaign. Apart from their love for the Earth, the young people are also united by their participation in educational mobility under the Erasmus + programme.
They collected over 30 bags of garbage from the western slope, in the area that many Varna residents use today for sports. Later, the students will attend a video screening in Hall 3 in Varna.
The Earth Day is the largest non-religious holiday in the world, celebrated by more than half a billion people. Each year, the Earth Day Network coordinates the actions of more than 12,000 partners in 174 countries aimed at protecting the planet Earth and preserving life on it. The network seeks to create broad civic support for sustainable and effective environmental development policies around the world.
