For the first time, projects of students majoring in Architecture at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" participated in the prestigious European Union competition for young talents in the field of architecture. The projects of Olga Golant and Achilia Rufat were published in the catalog of the competition, which presents the works of participants from around the world.
The Young Talent Architecture Award was established in 2016 as part of the European Union's Mies van der Rohe Award for Contemporary Architecture. It supports the talent of recently graduated architects, urban planners and landscape architects. It emerged from an interest in the initial stages in the work of these young architects' development and a desire to support them as they enter into the professional world.
The Faculty of Architecture at Varna Free University nominated the projects of two of its graduates. Olga Golant's project is for a Mladost town hall building in the area of the Circus Square in Varna. It was awarded the best diploma work by the Territorial Organization of Scientific and Technical Unions. Achilia Rufat was nominated for her Tetris project, a mixed-use residential group in an urban environment. "The aim of the project is to provide both maximum urban comfort and a touch of nature. Targeted at young families in densely populated areas, the project provides an "oasis" with areas for recreation, sports, entertainment and play," Achilia said about her project.
A few days ago the university received a letter of thanks from the organizers and the catalog with projects of all participants for the Award for Young Talents in the field of architecture. At the request of the organizers, the catalog will be provided to the University Library.
