Extraordinary scientific visualizations and ideas gathered in an interactive exhibition were presented by Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the Research Institute of the Medical University - Varna on the eve of the Day of the National Enlighteners.
The fascinating exposition, which is the result of inter-university interdisciplinary research in the field of science, was presented at the White Salon of the Seaside Casino in Varna.
Special guests of the event were Yani Yanev - vice president of Varna Free University, Prof. Petar Hristov, PhD - rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Anton Tonchev, MD, director of the Research Institute of the Medical University - Varna, many school and university students, lecturers and guests.
The event entitled New Enlighteners aims to arouse interest and inspire young Bulgarians, to popularize science and to make it accessible and interesting for all ages, provoking Varna students with unusual scientific visualizations and ideas. The exposition presented images, visualizations, interactive installations, holographic and 3D models created by scientists and students in the fields of medicine, computer science, astronomy, architecture, design and more.
Some of the images that were presented were created during a joint training between scientists and experts from the Department of Informatics at Varna Free University and the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Medical University of Varna for the analysis of biomedical images. The training took place in the beginning of September 2019 in Varna and brought together students with an interest in science, students majoring in computer science and medicine, PhD students and lecturers. Experts from both universities continue their work on common projects and innovative research practices for new scientific breakthroughs.
Special greetings to the guests were given by the wonderful dancers from the Academic Dance Theatre of Varna Free University.
Due to the great interest, the exhibition will be arranged at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" from 8 to 18 November 2019, after which it will also be displayed at the Medical University of Varna.
