After a competition, the academic council of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" awarded the academic position of "professor" to Prof. Dr. Yuliana Mateeva - lecturer in Law, as well as to Prof. Dr. Katya Kairyakova and Prof. Dr. Maria Kardzhieva - choreography lecturers. Dr. Georgi Zagorov and Dr. Nadie Adem were awarded the academic positions of 'Chief Assistant'.
Prof. Dr. Yuliana Mateeva has been a lecturer at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" since 2011, and for eight years she has been the head of the Department of Legal Sciences. After reviewing the scientific work, a jury composed of: Prof. D. Sc. Yonko Kunchev, Prof. D.Sc. Lazar Gruev, Prof. Dr. Olga Borisova, Prof. D.Sc. Anton Girginov, Prof. D.Sc. Boris Velchev, Prof. Dr. Plamen Panayotov and Prof. Dr. Rumen Vladimirov proposed to the Scientific Council of the University that she should be given the position of professor. Yuliana Mateeva is a member of the Union of Scientists - Bulgaria, section Law, an expert at the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation, a member of state examination commissions in criminal law sciences, a member of competition commissions for magistrates at the Supreme Judicial Council, a lawyer at the Bar Association - Varna. She is the author of over 40 works in the field of criminal law.
Prof. Dr. Katya Kairyakova has been a lecturer in Choreography at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" since 2007. Along with that, she is also the head of the "Shoumen" Folk Song and Dance Ensemble. "The activity that I do in my entire conscious life is directly related to music, dance, acting. Without the ability to dance, I wouldn't be who I am right now," says Prof. Kairyakova. She has dozens of presentations in scientific conferences and works in the field of music and dance art. She published her monographic works in 2020 and 2023. She directed concert performances and created numerous original works. Katya Kairyakova is the winner of the "Silver Ring" award of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Academic Dance Theater.
Prof. Dr. Maria Kardzhieva fully realized her educational and scientific career at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". She is from the first graduating class of students majoring in Choreography at Varna Free University, that graduated in 2000. She successively held the positions of assistant, senior assistant and doctoral assistant. Since 2015, she has been an associate professor. She is the Academic Secretary of the Department of Arts. She was honored with a number of individual awards, including one from the Education and Youth Activities Directorate, Municipality of Varna, the National Representation of the Student Councils for overall contribution in the field of Bulgarian culture - 'They - the bearers of enlightenment 2017'; honored community center figure for outstanding contribution to the development of the community center on the occasion of 120 years since the foundation of the community center in the village of Bluskovo. Prof. Kardzhieva is also the recipient of the "Silver Ring" award of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Academic Dance Theater.
Dr. Georgi Zagorov and Dr. Nadie Adem are also graduates of Varna Free University, where they will be Chief Assistants.
According to the tradition, at the end of the year, the rector of VFU "Chernorizec Hrabar", Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov, presented certificates under the programme for stimulation the lecturers' publication activity for 2022. Prof. Dr. Alexander Slaev, Prof. Dr. Rositsa Marinova, Prof. Dr. Borislav Stoyanov, assistant doctor of arch. Boryana Nozharova, Assoc. Dr. Zhechka Ilieva, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Anelia Parzhanova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Rositsa Petkova – Slipets, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Tatiana Stoyanova, Prof. Dr. Teodora Bakardzhieva, Dr. Boryana Kostova – Stamboliyska, Prof. Dr. Snezhanka Ovcharova, Assist. Prof. Antonina Ivanova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ralitsa Zhekova were honored.
