Assoc. Prof. Ivaylo Ivanov, PhD, Director of Artistic and Creative Activities at Varna Free University and Asst. Prof. Dilyan Galev - presented reports dedicated to current problems, trends and prospects in the professional arts education, based on university experience and good practices at the national conference "Modernization of Professional Education in the Field of Arts". The event was organised by the 140th Secondary School "Ivan Bogorov" in Sofia and is part of the project "Modernization of Professional Education and Training", aimed at creating new perspectives for the development of creative industries in Bulgaria.
Among the officials and experts in education were Emilia Lazarova, PhD, Deputy Minister of Education and Science; Vanya Kastreva, PhD, Head of the Sofia City Education and Training Office; Krasimir Valchev, Member of Parliament from the 51st National Assembly and Minister of Education and Science (2017-2021); Yanka Takeva, DSc, Chairperson of the Bulgarian Teachers' Union; Diyan Stamatov, Chairperson of the Union of Heads of the Public Education System in Bulgaria; Dimitar Zdravkov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria on Education and Science; Prof. Nikolay Marin, PhD, Rector of the South-West University "Neofit Rilski"; Vanya Tividosheva, Director of the Directorate "Vocational Education and Training" at the Ministry of Education and Science; Kamen Todorov, Advisor on Education and Science in the Office of the MEP Kristiyan Vigenin; senior experts at the Sofia City Education and Training Office; Prof. Nikolay Tsvetkov, Head of the Department of Choreography at the South-West University "Neofit Rilski", as well as representatives of the Secondary School for Humanities and Arts "Konstantin Preslavski" – Varna, "Elin Pelin" Primary School - Burgas.
The conference created a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences between representatives of the academic community, schools, educational institutions and employers. The participants discussed key issues related to the processes of modernization of professional education in the field of arts. In 2025, a collection of scientific reports and articles from the conference is to be published, which will summarise the main proposals and innovations.
