LECTURERS AND STUDENTS FROM VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR" WORK ON A COMMUNICATION STRATEGY FOR DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL TOURISM IN SOUTHEAST BULGARIA

Cultural tourism management in the municipality of Kazanlak was discussed by students and lecturers in the master's degree programmes in Advertising and Public Relations in Business Management and Cultural Tourism Management at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". The programmes are led by Assoc. Prof.Georgi Kalaglarski, PhD. Specialists from the municipal administration and experts from the regional museum and art gallery in the town also took part in the discussion.
Emphasis was placed on the real possibility of applying new social technologies to promote the historical and cultural heritage of the region. A team of lecturers and students of the two master's degree programmes will develop a communication strategy for specific municipalities in Southeast Bulgaria for the development of cultural tourism - the most dynamically growing segment of the tourism industry in the last ten years in the world. A segment in which hundreds of millions of people around the world participate every year, and the organizers receive huge profits.
In their lectures, Prof. Evgeniy Sachev, D.Sc. and Assoc. Prof. Rumen Draganov, PhD analyzed current theoretical statements and research, and the presentations of specialists from the municipality complemented the range of opportunities of Kazanlak to establish itself as a center of cultural tourism in this region of the country. The Thracian tomb near the town, the rose museum, the historical museum and the town gallery were visited. The events were also attended by former graduates of the two master's degree programmes, who are already prominent specialists and lead creative processes in the city.
