International Experts Discuss Innovations in Construction at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar"

Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" is the host and co-organizer of the international scientific conference 'Design and Construction of Buildings and Facilities', organized by the Scientific and Technical Union for Construction in Bulgaria (NTSSB). The event will be held on September 12 and 13, 2024 at the University's Academic and Sports Complex. The forum will be opened on September 12 at 10 a.m. by Prof. Lachezar Hrischev - chairperson of the NTSSB.This year's edition of the conference gathers scientists and specialists from different countries, and the international participation includes representatives from Ireland, Syria, Latvia and Turkey. Bulgaria will be represented by the key universities in the field of construction. 60 scientific papers will be presented in the programme, 28 of which will be included in the renowned British publication IOP Publishing. The rest of the the papers will find a place in a specialized Bulgarian collection.
Particular attention is paid to the participation of young scientists, as 15 of the scientific reports will be presented by university and doctoral students from various universities. The best scientific report of a young scientist will be awarded a prize from the NTSSB. The chairperson of the International Scientific Committee is academician Yachko Ivanov.
The main focus of the conference will be building information modeling (BIM), which is an innovative approach to managing construction projects by creating a virtual model of the site. BIM technology enables integrated management of information and documentation related to the project and provides greater efficiency and control in the construction process. Within the event, practical examples of the implementation of BIM by leading companies in the construction sector will be presented.
