INCREASED INTEREST IN THE SPECIALTIES OF VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABER" DURING THE CANDIDATE STUDENT CAMPAIGN VARNA 2023

Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" presents its courses and majors in the "CANDIDATE STUDENT CAMPAIGN VARNA 2023", organized by the Municipality of Varna, through the Directorate of Education and Youth Activities, in cooperation with Career Development Center-Varna.
The event was opened by Lilia Hristova - director of the Education and Youth Activities Directorate at the Municipality of Varna and Diyana Yaneva - director of the municipal career development center. The traditional meeting between Varna universities and graduating high school students was resumed after a 2-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yaneva explained to the media that a large percentage of the school-leavers, who are about 2,000 per year, stay to study in Bulgaria. Many prefer the universities in Varna because of the level of training they offer and the attractive majors that give young people the opportunity for realization and good pay.
The candidate student campaign of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" for admission to the majors after completing secondary education has started. Varna Free University is preferred by more and more graduates from language and mathematics high schools, as well as elite schools from all over the country. The university's students rate Excellent 5.61 for the quality of the learning process. Among the advantages they point out is the personal attitude, the quality of teaching, cooperation with business, opportunities for practices and internships at home and abroad, as well as the excellent university campus. Traditionally, the interest of prospective students in Law is strong. And this year, to apply to the specialty the candidates need their grades from the state school-leaving exam in Bulgarian language and literature and the average score from the diploma for completed secondary education. Training in the field of security at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" has nearly 30 years of history and traditions. Leading scientists and lecturers are involved. This is also one of the reasons why among the most preferred majors by prospective students, along with Law, are National Security Protection and Counteraction to Crime and Public Order Protection. The high interest in Psychology is still present.
In the new academic year, students in the professional fields Administration and Management, Economics, Informatics and Computer Sciences and Psychology will be able to choose between broad-based training with the acquisition of a second major with a specialized training without an increase in the duration and tuition fees. Varna Free University has re-signed its contract with BI Norwegian Business School for the implementation of the joint bachelor's degree programme in International Business, which gives students the opportunity to simultaneously obtain 2 prestigious diplomas in 2 majors from 2 universities. VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" is a leader in education in Architecture, Construction of Buildings and Facilities and Fire and Emergency Safety in Eastern Bulgaria. This year, the programmes in Graphic Design, Interior Design and Fashion Design attract the attention of prospective students. The interest in Choreography is indisputable, provoked by the successful realization of music and dance art graduates. The arts are the jewel in the university crown of Varna Free University. Varna Free University is the only university in Bulgaria with an accredited distance learning bachelor's degree in Informatics and Computer Science. The high quality of education attracts students from different cities of the country. The interest of foreign students in the English language majors - Informatics and Computer Science, International Business, as well as in the master's and doctoral programmes of the university has increased.
VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" implements educational cooperation with state higher schools and foreign universities by creating joint innovative master's programmes. Varna Free University is actively working on three projects financed by the Science and Education for Smart Growth operational programme.
