Huge interest in Varna Free University during the Candidate Students Exchanges

Huge interest in the programmes and projects of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" was noted on the candidate student exchanges, which took place in the beginning of the week in Plovdiv and Varna. The future students put glasses for virtual reality at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and managed to get into the auditoriums and see the campus of the university. The interest of the young people in the higher education institution is caused by the close connection of the educational process with the needs of the business and the labour market in Bulgaria and abroad.

Varna Free University is a higher education institution, preferred by students and PhD students from five continents. The future specialists from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and North America chose VFU, which has established itself as an international educational platform for knowledge transfer, advanced competencies, research and digital technologies. The university is accredited by the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation at the Council of Ministers with the highest rating among the private higher education institutions in the country.

The Candidate Student Campaign
of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" for the academic year 2019/2020 starts with admissions in 10 professional areas - Administration and Management, Economics, Economics and Computer Science, Psychology, Political Science, Law, National Security , Architecture, Construction and Geodesy , Visual Arts and Dance Art. There are 20 bachelor's and 47 master's degree programmes in full-time and part-time mode of study, as well as distance learning. 25 are the specialties that are studied in English or Russian.

The exclusive programmes are developed in partnership with business, branch organizations and local authorities, according to the needs and opportunities for professional realization of the students.

For the first time in the new academic year, the Faculty of International Economics and Administration offers an admissions procedure after completed secondary education in the specialty of Entrepreneurship and Business. The bachelor's degree programme is built on the sustainable models of the master's degree programme in Entrepreneurship. It brought to Bulgaria the best practices of Silicon Valley lecturers, as well as the rich experience of world-renowned entrepreneurs. Partners of Varna Free University are the leading American and European universities and the Bulgarian Entrepreneurship Centre. The first course of 31 masters received individual scholarships from entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley, who are also mentors of the students. Since the first semester,the programme participants have already launched their own business projects inspired by the training at VFU. The future students of the bachelor's degree programme in Entrepreneurship and Business will receive free access to some of the educational resources, individual attention and training, and the opportunity to graduate with a second spacialty.

The Business Administration and Management specialty, with profiles International Business Management and Tourism Management, is offered in full-time, part-time or distance learning mode of study.

Sport Management  is a new programme intended for currect athletes  or such whose sports career is over. The programme is developing as a profile of the bachelor's degree specialty of Business Administration and Management, as well as independently as a master's degree programme.

Extremely huge is the interest in the master's degree programme in Circular Economy, which is a synergy between knowledge, skills and good practices in building specialists for the sustainable development of municipalities, business, the future of Europe and Bulgaria. It is carried out under the auspices of the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission. The programme considers the key priority for our country in the field of environment - effective use of resources to achieve sustainable development and sustainable growth.

The interest in the specialties of Law, National Security and Psychology remains considerable. For years, university graduates have been in the forefront of magistrate competitions launched by the Ministry of Justice. For the new academic year, the Faculty of Law of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" adds to its portfolio also a master's degree programme in English in the Field of Law and Security, which is entirely focused on international practice.

A new master's degree  programme will also be launched in the professional area of National Security – the specialty of Intelligent Security Systems will offer profiles Systems for Monitoring and Security Management and  Preparedness of the Authorities, Forces and Resources in Disasters, Accidents and Catastrophes. The courses in the curriculum of the master's degree programme in Cyber Security  cover programmes related to security management, cyber crime, and security testing

The Black Sea Academy of Security will be launched with leading world experts from Israel, Bulgaria and Europe. The training of students in the programme in Data Science, which offers specialized training on topical issues of computer science in accordance with international, European and national criteria, is conducted in English in a full-time, part-time or distance learning mode of study.

Among the leading specialties of Varna Free University are Architecture and Construction of Buildings and Structures, the interest of which remains sustainably high because of the construction boom in Bulgaria. The Road Construction profile solves the problem of the lack of qualified specialists for implementation of the infrastructure projects in the country.

The specialty of Fashion Design will also start the academic year with new proposals – the bachelor's degree programme is with profiles Business, Styling and Garment Modelling. In the master's degree has been developed the new programme of the specialty of Fashion - Creative Design Practices in Fashion.

In the past year Varna Free University implemented over 1,100 student practices, with 91% of the mentors declaring readiness to appoint the practicing students as soon as they graduate, and 154 young specialists received a proposal to remain at work. During their studies, the students have the opportunity to participate in various programmes for student mobility and academic exchanges, traineeships, internships, competitions and trainings. The university has an Academic Accelerator in which lecturers and students develop their ideas and have the opportunity to implement them in business.
 
Lecturers and mentors are world-renowned scientists and proven practicing experts from Bulgaria, Japan, the United States, Russia, Israel, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Great Britain, Austria, Ukraine and others.

The university offers a rich portfolio of master classes and additional qualification courses.

Foreign language learning is strongly present as well as the soft skills courses aimed at developing the successful communication in a foreign language, flexibility, creativity, self-control and self-confidence, analytical thinking, leadership, etc. The study of foreign languages enhances the competitiveness of the students of Varna Free University and gives them the opportunity to add in their professional portfolio the knowledge of two or three foreign languages, some of which rare.

The graduates who complete their secondary education in Bulgaria can apply for a scholarship under the programme "I will study and succeed in Bulgaria".

The programme is a chance for 20 prospective students to begin their studies in a chosen specialty and covers 100% of the annual tuition fee for the first year.

The high-tech, modern university campus is located in close proximity to the sea shore and the Golden Sands nature park. The university has a student dormitory, a restaurant, a library, a sports complex, a park and a medical centre.
