The 28th class of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" set off on the road of life today. More than 530 students received their bachelor's and master's degrees in a solemn ceremony. 30 of them with excellent results. Special guests at the event were the mayor of Varna Blagomir Kotsev, the regional governor Prof. Andriyana Andreeva, PhD, the chairman of the Stading Comittee "Science and Education" at the Municipal Council - Vladislav Bakalov, Irena Radeva, PhD - director of the Regional Department of Education, the deputy mayor for security and graduate of VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar “ Iliya Koev, representatives of higher education institutions and scientific institutes, lecturers from partner universities of Varna Free University from Izmir University "Kyatip Celebi" and Sakaria University in Turkey, as well as from the University of Lublin "John Paul II" Catholic University in Poland, chairpersons and members of branch boards of professional branches, business representatives and members of the Board of Trustees of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar".
"The numerous successes bring us satisfaction and pride because they are oriented towards the young people of Bulgaria and we are flattered by the thought that we are contributing to multiplying the nation's human capital. You, the young people, are part of the society of the connected person of the 21st century, which sets new directions for the development of the world. You are an indispensable part and the most important human resource of Industry 5.0, which is based on innovation, new technological tools and platforms. You are the new, the positive energy, the optimism. We want to believe that you will be the worthy successors of the university's mission.",Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov, PhD, President of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar"said in his address.
I am confident that you have received a quality education. Our city's universities produce educated young people who glorify Varna all over the world, but I would very much like to see most of you stay and develop professionally here and start your families here. This is a wish both for you and for me as the mayor of our city, because it can happen if we have done our work and created jobs and conditions for your development, Blagomir Kotsev told the graduates.
Greetings to the graduates and the academic family of Varna Free University were also extended by the regional governor Prof. Andriyana Andreeva, PhD. In her speech, Professor Andreeva wished the graduates to walk their own path boldly and with style, to keep their curiosity about the world, to continue searching for answers to important questions, and to bravely overcome all challenges.
On behalf of the graduates, Milena Kozhuharova, who graduated from Graphic Design with full honours, delivered a speech.
"I started from photography, from photo processing. This attracted me to programs like Photoshop, Illustrator. I wanted to know more about it. And from there I already went to graphic design." The graduate of the 28th class of Varna Free University participates as a volunteer in projects to improve the urban environment in Varna and is part of the university team that was second in the national competition "For a sustainable and green future" of the Association for Development of Sofia.
Nearly 280 bachelors and 250 masters from the class of 2023 received their diplomas today. The Rector of the university, Prof. Petar Hristov, said that they are part of another successful class. "I can say that our graduates have a good career development. We were the first among the universities in Bulgaria, to launch outside of the departmental higher schools, the specialty National Security and Combating Crime. We currently have over 2,000 officers in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in general in the Security sector.
At the graduation ceremony, diplomas for the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" were also awarded.
