Faculty and students of Varna Free University will participate in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme of the prestigious Stanford University

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme of Stanford University, California, was presented at Varna Free University earlier this week.

 

 

In two consecutive meetings, HumeraFasihuddin and LeticiaBritosCavagnaro – directors of the University Innovation Fellows programme, introduced faculty and students to the opportunities and terms of participation. The programme is a prestigious course on entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation at Stanford University, California.

 

 

One lecturer and four students from Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will enroll in the programme to upgrade their knowledge and skills in the field of leadership, creativity and entrepreneurship and will receive a certificate from one of the most prestigious universities in the world.The careers of people such as Elon Musk (Tesla), Marissa Mayer (Yahoo), Reed Hastings (Netflix), Evan Spiegel(Snapchat) and many others began there.

 

 

To participate in the selection procedure, the wishing students have to send a cover letter in English at e-mail address: eleonora@vfu.bg by 17 May, 2018.

 

 

The programme will be funded by the Bulgarian Entrepreneurship Centre Foundationand by Google. The tuition fee is $ 4,000 per student and will be covered by the foundation.

 

 

The partnership of Varna Free University with the Foundation started as early as last year when mentors from the Silicon Valley visited the university. The meeting with the mentors gathered more than 200 students, lecturers, business representatives, entrepreneurs and investors who commented on a wide range of topics related to investments, entrepreneurship, start-up companies and education.

 

The two events take place at the initiative of the Academic Accelerator, which aims to support the implementation of student entrepreneurship initiatives as well as the formation of teams for the start of new businesses.
