Judge Elena Yanakieva – Chairperson of the Administrative Court – Varna, is delivering a public lecture on the topic 'Law on Access to Public Information – the Regulated Opportunity to Get Acquainted with the Work of the State and Local Administration'. The event will be held on February 21st, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Hall 2 of the Educational and Sports Complex at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”.
Before the start of the lecture, a short ceremony will be held to exchange the signed copies of the contract, which will formalize the cooperation between Varna Free University and the Administrative Court – Varna. The partnership is part of the long-standing tradition of the two institutions to work together towards practical training and professional preparation of students. Its expansion will strengthen the connection between the academic community and judicial practice, providing students with a valuable opportunity to get acquainted with the real challenges in the field of law.
“The results of our cooperation are evident in the work of the students and the development of their legal practice,” said Judge Yanakieva.
The public lecture will contribute to enriching the students’ knowledge of the legal mechanisms ensuring transparency in government and will present practical guidelines for the implementation of the Law on Access to Public Information. It is intended not only for future lawyers, but also for students majoring in Public Administration and Management, Business Administration and Management, Architecture, Construction of Buildings and Facilities, etc. The lecture will be useful for all those interested in the legal aspects of access to information and its importance for the transparency and efficiency of state and local government. The event is open to students and lecturers from the three faculties at the university – Law, Architecture and Social, Economic and Computer Sciences.
