Eight graduates of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" were sworn in as junior judges, junior prosecutors and junior investigators in July this year.

All of them have completed their mandatory training at the National Institute of Justice, and four of them have already been sworn in as junior judges in various district courts in the country. Marina Semova is a magistrate in the Varna District Court. She graduated from "Law" at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar in 2019. Diana Vasileva was elected as a junior judge in Sofia City Court. Adriana Veleva, who graduated from the university in 2020, joined the Sofia District Court a few days ago, and Nadya Slavova is already a junior judge at the Dobrich District Court.

According to the statistics of the National Institute of Justice, 10% of the appointed junior judges in the country are graduates of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". The Faculty of Law at Varna Free University is among the four leading faculties in the country in terms of this indicator. These facts are proof of the high level of education at the Faculty of Law at Varna Free University. Future lawyers receive an excellent level of knowledge during their studies, owing to the quality of teaching, the current curricula, the qualified lecturers and the modern infrastructure, the opportunities for internships and practices in Bulgaria and abroad, the participation of students in law competitions, as well as due to a network of contacts which encourages students to participate in academic and professional courses, seminars and conferences. Of utmost importance for their successful professional realization is the development of the personal qualities of the future lawyers - communication, analytical and leadership skills.

Here is what the alumni student Adriana Veleva - junior judge in the Sofia District Court - said:

Anything is possible in life! Any set goal is achievable with the right motivation and enough effort! The university is a step on the way to the desired legal profession. The first step. And the most important one! Like any beginning, it is difficult. Like little children learning to walk. Insecure at first, with small, slow steps, always looking for the hand of someone close for support. Over time, however, they gain confidence, their steps become stable and they rarely seek help and support from others. Then they start running. They stumble, fall, but get up, beat themselves out and continue, knowing how to get around the obstacle that tripped them before.
Dear colleagues, I wish you, in this first meeting with the law, to make the most out of the knowledge, so that it hurts less "when you fall" tomorrow. Now is the time to build a solid foundation to help you climb the legal career ladder.
Don't be afraid to run! Know that you will always have support in the face of your teachers. I am confident that they will be by your side at every stage, every step or twist, as well as at every success. Now you are their children.
The beginning is set - go boldly!
Pursue your dreams, even if they seem out of reach at the moment!
I wish you success from all my heart!
