A solemn ceremony on the occasion of the diploma awarding to the class of 2023 at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" - Smolyan Branch, brought together today representatives of the local and executive authorities, business and management of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" in the "Bulgaria" hall of the Branch of VFU in Smolyan.
The guests of the celebration were the academic management of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krssimir Nedyalkov, Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eleonora Tankova, Mr. Yani Yanev, as well as Zahari Sirakov - Governor of Smolyan Region, Zarko Marinov - Deputy Governor, Khairy Sadakov - Member of the Parliament, Nikolay Melemov - Mayor of Smolyan Municipality, Fahri Molaysenov - Mayor of Madan Municipality, Nedko Kulevski - Mayor of Rudozem Municipality, Kostadin Koev - Mayor of Velingrad Municipality, Zdravko Ivanov - Mayor of Devin Municipality, Mustafa Karaahmed - Mayor of Borino Municipality, Nejmi Ali - Mayor of Jebel Municipality, Nikola Zapryanov - Head of the Regional Department of Education - Smolyan, Antoaneta Karadjova - Director of Vocational High School of Tourism and Construction - Smolyan, Chief Commissioner Tsvetan Tsankov - Director of the Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Smolyan, Commissioner Kostadin Bundov - Deputy Director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior - Smolyan, Eng. Asen Sokolov - chairman of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber - Smolyan, heads of state institutions and employers' organizations.
Diplomas were awarded to 135 graduates from Protection of National Security, Crime Prevention and Protection of Public Order, Business Administration and Management, Construction of Buildings and Facilities, Water Supply and Sewerage, as well as graduates from the master's programmes Tax and Customs Control, European Administration and Project Management, Water Supply and Sewerage. Congratulations on behalf of the graduating students was presented by Maria Kikyova - one of the excellent students of the class of 2023.
On the initiative of representatives from the academic community, local and executive authorities, experts from practice and business, a Public Council was initiated at the Branch - Smolyan, whose main goal is to improve the model of relationships between local authorities, business and science and to mobilize the representatives of the educational community , the governmental and non-governmental organizations guaranteeing a better and inclusive quality education in line with global standards. The development of the academic profile of the Branch - Smolyan at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the offering of new specialties adapted to social trends were part of the highlights of the held forum.
An honorary plaque for overall contribution to the activity of the institution was awarded to Mrs. Tanya Mareva - deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine "Rodopi" at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" Branch of Smolyan.
