Dear graduates,
I am glad to once again have the opportunity to welcome everyone present to one of the most significant holidays of our academic family - the graduation ceremony for the students of Class 2024. A few days after we celebrated the Day of People's Enlighteners, to their great work and our humble contribution we proudly add the completion of the educational cycle for the students of class of 2024 and the right of 304 bachelors and 117 masters to be awarded diplomas.
On this solemn day, we have every reason to be proud of the achievements and dedication of the Bulgarian teachers, lecturers, creators and artists who tirelessly build the spiritual fortress of writing, enlightenment and knowledge. I express my gratitude to all of you for the efforts you make to preserve our national identity, which is a guarantee for the success and future of our homeland. Admirations deserve the will and responsibility of students and teachers to overcome a number of difficulties of the time we live in and to discover new opportunities for meetings with the professional qualification.
The numerous successes bring us satisfaction and pride because they are oriented towards the young people of Bulgaria and we are flattered by the thought that we contribute to multiplying the nation's human capital. Dear graduates, this day is significant for each of you. Today you receive the diplomas of a respected, accredited with the highest marks, internationally recognized university. You, young people, are part of the society of the connected person of the 21st century, which sets new directions for the development of the world. You are an indispensable part and the most important human resource of Industry 5.0, which is based on innovation, new technological tools and platforms. You are the carriers of the new, of positive energy, of optimism, you are flexible and adaptable. Today, together with you, we all look at the light of knowledge and science to ensure a better society and future for our parents and children.
Dreams do work, but only if we work for them. I wish you to achieve success that will make us, your teachers, proud and happy, and the economy and society - prosperous and thriving. The world right now needs hardworking and successful people the most. We need people who will make our homeland worthy, for Schengen to apply for admission to it, not the other way around. Bulgaria badly needs names that remind the world that being Bulgarian is an honor, recognition and title. When you go forward, try not to fall between the notorious "red dividing lines". Stand up for yourself, respecting the opinions of others. Give a hand to your opponents. True power and authority can only be born in true and free competition. Climbing the peaks of life, stop after each big step, look back and look up, treat yourself to something good, for the efforts made, this will give you confidence and self-confidence on the difficult path to the top. If you accept this, it means you build an identity. Identity is something you always have to fight for!
I would also like to express my gratitude to everyone who has always been by our side over the past years and contributed to the establishment of Varna as an important educational center and the university as a factor with proven sustainable development. Your extensive professional experience and dedication make VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" a preferred choice for training and allow it to respond adequately to the needs of the labor market. I thank the management of Varna Free University and all the lectures and staff for the tireless work and responsibility that are part of the successful running of this process.
