A PROJECT BY A GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDENT WILL BE THE COVER OF A LIMITED EDITION

The project of the graphic design student Vanessa Sabkova is among the selected covers of The Sofianer edition 2 for 2023!Vanessa, who will be third-year student, is a member of the university's Student Council and is successfully working as a designer, competing with 127 applicants in the competition!
"The concept of my project was inspired by an incident that turned into a funny photo on the Sketches of Sofia page. The situation itself is part of everyday life in the city, but it can also have a rather unexpected ending. To convey this idea, I decided to use the symbolic statue of the ballerina, which was torn down in 2017. While doing this, I combine some of Sofia's symbols in this tragicomic situation," says Vanessa Sabkova.
The selected 28 covers will be part of a limited book edition and outdoor exhibition in September in the "Crystal" garden in Sofia.
The first three places, chosen by a jury, will be awarded with a prize from BAKB. Vij Magazine, inspired by The Sofianer, also give their special prize - a cover for September and a cash prize!
The contest is supported by Sofia Municipality, Culture Programme, BAKB.
