A GRADUATE STUDENT PRESENTED AN IMPRESSIVE PROJECT FOR A CONGRESS AND FESTIVAL CENTER IN THE ALBENA RESORT

Graduates from Architecture at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" have successfully defended their diploma projects and very soon they will be the youngest members of the guild of architects in Bulgaria.
14 graduates presented their projects in front of the academic jury, chaired by the corresponding member Prof. D. Sc. arch. Atanas Kovachev - head of the Architecture and Urban Studies Department. They have prepared projects for residential, industrial and public buildings, two of the works were on the topic of urban planning, and one was dedicated to the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage. The marks from the presented projects averaged Very good 5. This is the time when our students show what they have learned during their studies at the university, and often the real architectural project they have created is related to their dreams.
The defense of diploma projects traditionally attracts a large audience of students, lecturers, architects, builders and designers. The event was attended by arch. Marin Velchev - Chairperson of the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria - Varna Regional branch, and a graduate from Architecture at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar".
The highest grade - Excellent 6 was awarded to Rosen Kamenov for his project of a development in the field of public buildings and complexes. He defended his architectural idea for a congress and festival center in the Albena resort complex - "a building that is missing in the complex", as he said. The graduate offered a functional building, fully in line with the ideas of sustainable tourism with a modern façade, constituting a hall with 1,150 seats, three multi-purpose halls with their adjacent auxiliary spaces, a restaurant and a café. Rosen Kamenov's directors of studies are Dr. Arch. Radost Raynovska and arch. Boryana Nozharova.
The personal history of the graduate is closely related to the resort complex, where he worked for many years in the field of tourism. Rosen Kamenov is one of the students of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" who are proof that it is never too late for a successful career change.
